Entusi Model Farm Community Outreach

This campaign ended on December 04, 2019, but you can still make a gift to Colorado School of Mines by clicking here!

We are the Entusi Model Farm Team, a group of Mines students from multiple engineering backgrounds.

We are collaborating with the Global Livingston Institute to develop an improved irrigation system for the Entusi Model farm located by Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda.

The goal is to create a low cost, low maintenance solution that can easily be reproduced for the farmers in the community. The development of a better irrigation method will directly impact the farmers and hopefully increase crop yield. The goal is to increase this yield as much as possible so that the people and their families will have more income to support a higher standard of living.

Your donation will help take us to Uganda, so we can connect with local farmers and understand their needs. The Global Livingston Institute works by the philosophy of “Listen, Think, Act”. In order to carry out the “listen” component we need to travel to this location to gather the community’s input to our project and make sure they are involved in it as much as possible. By donating today, you will help us in planning the travel and material cost estimates ahead of time so that our trip will be as productive and impactful to the community as possible.
